Last night at ENR’s Top 25 Newsmakers gala in New York City, Wayne Jones was presented with the evening’s top accolade: the Award of Excellence for 2013. Originally honored as one of the Top 25 Newsmakers for his work on the Inner Harbor Navigation Channel (IHNC) Storm Surge Barrier in New Orleans, ENR singled him out due to his “creativity in planning, skills in execution and leadership of a complex team whose work required precision interfacing with other subcontractors.” The IHNC  project is a 10,000-foot-long, 26-foot-tall surge barrier that locals are calling “The Great Wall of New Orleans.”
