Traylor Bros. Wins Another Mega Project in Los Angeles

Skanska-Traylor-Shea, a Joint Venture (STS), along with lead designer Parsons Transportation Group, has been selected by LA Metro to perform the $1.6 billion design-build construction of the Westside Subway Extension, Section 1, in downtown Los Angeles. This is the first of three projects to extend the Purple Line from Wilshire Center to Westwood.

This project will add 3.92 miles to the Purple Line, beginning at the Wilshire/Western Station. The twin tunnel alignment will travel beneath Wilshire Boulevard, and underground stations will be constructed at Wilshire/La Brea, Wilshire/Fairfax, and Wilshire/La Cienega. The project also includes train control and signals, communications, traction power supply and distribution, and fare collection systems. The project will take approximately eight years to construct and deliver.

As with the our recent Regional Connector win, both the Underground and National Heavy Civil divisions will play key roles in the delivery of this major infrastructure project. This second major win with Metro, based on our top ranked Best Value Proposal, confirms our status as an industry leader and preferred builder.
