Burro Creek (tbi0307) Wickenburg, AZ SR-93, the Wickenburg-Kingman Highway, the Burro Creek section, takes approximately 3.8 miles of existing 2-lane highway and upgrades it to 4-lane divided highway. The work on this project is divided between the Joint Venture partners, R. E. Monks Construction Company and Traylor Bros.
R. E. Monks is constructing the roadway portions of the project, and Traylor is constructing a new bridge at Burro Creek. The roadway construction consists of 600,000 CY of earthwork, primarily in hard rock, requiring extensive blasting. The roadway work also includes drainage, grading, paving, guardrail, signage and striping, and cactus relocation. The new bridge is a 1,000 ft., long steel arch comprised of roughly 4,000,000 lbs. of structural steel, 1,000,000 lbs. of rebar, and 4,300 CY of structural concrete. Bridge construction completion is scheduled for March 2006.
