Traylor-Shea Joint Venture is constructing the Upper Northwest Interceptor Sections 1 & 2 project in Sacramento, California. UNWI 1 & 2 includes 19,240 feet of 144" pipe using EPB tunneling methods. The project also includes 54 feet of 120" interceptor pipeline, 20 access manholes, 2 transition structures, and the connection of three existing trunk sewer lines.
Work consists of 19,240 lf of 144" diameter interceptor for a sanitary sewer located along the East Drainage Canal beginning at the New Natomas Pump Station near the intersection of San Juan and Airport Roads and ending at the intersection of the East Drainage Canal and Bridgecross Drive. In addition to installing the interceptor, the work includes construction of structures to transition from the UNWI Section 3 84" pipeline the 120" pipeline located at the New Natomas Pump Station, including the installation of approximately 13 ft of 84" pipe and 125 ft of 120" pipe. Also includes jet grouting to support existing utilities, construction of manholes, relocation of utilities, and connection of existing trunk sewers located near Truxel Boulevard, Terracina Drive, and Del Paso Boulevard, which include a direct connection, approximately 22 lf of 24" diameter pipe near Truxel Road; approximately 146 lf of 16" diameter pipe near Terracina Drive, and approximately 76 lf of 27" diameter pipe near Del Paso Boulevard. Precast segmental liner is being furnished by Traylor Shea Precast.
