Traylor Bros. celebrated being low bidder on March 19th for the Huey P. Long Bridge Widening - Approaches and Main Span Decking project for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LaDOTD). Traylor Bros. is a part of a joint venture team including Kiewit Louisiana and Massman Construction. The project is the fourth phase of the historic widening of the combined railroad and highway bridge over the Mississippi River just west of New Orleans in Jefferson Parish.

On September 20, 2007 the Notice to Proceed was issued to Traylor/Shea, a Joint Venture, for the Upper Northwest Interceptor Sections 1 & 2 project. UNWI 1 & 2 includes approximately 19,300 feet of 144" pipe using EPB tunneling methods. The project also includes 55 feet of 120" interceptor pipeline, 20 access manholes, 2 transition structures, and the connection of three existing trunk sewer lines.

Traylor Bros., Inc. and Dutra Construction Co., Inc. have formed a joint venture, Traylor-Dutra Joint Venture, to construct the temporary foundations on both Yerba Buena Island and the marine foundations for the temporary towers that will support the new falsework for the new SAS structure.

The 53rd Annual Beavers Awards Dinner was held Friday, January 18th at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles, California. This black-tie event was attended by over 2,100 members and guests. Former Congressman and HUD Secretary Jack Kemp was the keynote speaker.

On June 27. 2007 Massman Construction Co., Traylor Bros., Inc., and IHI, Inc. a Joint Venture, was read as low bidder by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) for Phase III of the Huey P. Long Bridge Widening project. Phase III consists of the fabrication and erection of structural steel for widening both sides of the existing truss spans. |

The September 2007 issue of Engineering News Record ranks Traylor Bros. 234th in the Top 400 Contractors. Traylor is also listed at #18 in the Top 25 Bridge Contractors; 15th in the Top 15 Marine and Port Facilities; 17th in the Top 25 Mass Transit and Rail Contractors; and 19th in the Top 20 of Water Supply Contractors. In ENR's July 2, 2007 publication, Traylor Bros. is ranked #113 in the Top 200 Environmental Firms.

The US93 Burro Creek Bridge and Roadway Project was named a Public Works Project of the Year by the American Public Works Association (APWA). The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), managing agency, along with primary contractors R.E. Monks Construction and Traylor Bros., Inc., and primary consultant URS Corporation are honored to be recipients of this distinguished award. APWA Project of the Year awards are presented annually to promote management and administration excellence of public works projects by recognizing alliances between managing agencies, contractors, consultants and their cooperative achievements. |
